In our earlier post with our emissions report, we stated that our current Lifetime Carbon Balance was 42tCO2. Well, today, we’re happy to announce, we’re now at zero having bought these CRCs.

We've recently received two certificates from our trustworthy and passionate partners Dutch Carboneers and Forest Conservation Fund.

Der Tanoe-Ehy-Wald wird vom Forest Conservation Fund (FCF) unterstützt, dessen Aufgabe es ist, den Wald Hektar für Hektar zu schützen und zu erhalten. Der FCF ist eine gemeinnützige Stiftung, die den Naturschutz dezentralisiert, indem sie indigene Völker, lokale NRO und Gemeinschaften sowie Akteure des Privatsektors befähigt, den Wald unter ihrer Kontrolle zu schützen.

Dutch Carboneers entwickelt dezentrale Biokohle-Projekte mit dem Ziel, kleinbäuerliche Biokohle-Projekte auf die globalen Märkte für Kohlenstoffabbau zu bringen. Bei der Umwandlung von Biomasse in Biokohle entsteht ein inertes, kohlenstoffhaltiges Material, das für mehr als tausend Jahre als stabile Kohlenstoffsenke dient. Biokohle enthält auch zahlreiche nützliche Eigenschaften für die Landwirtschaft. Sie speichert Nährstoffe, steigert die Ernteerträge, erhöht das Wasserhaltevermögen, trägt zur Klimaanpassung bei und beherbergt Mikroorganismen, die den organischen Kohlenstoffgehalt der Böden erhöhen.

The first is from Dutch Carboneers for 21 biochar Carbon Removal Credits. These credits are highly durable and will stay sequestered for more than 1,000 years.

The next is from Forest Conservation Fund CRCs for community forest protection in Tanoe Ehy forest in Cote d’Ivoire.
